I recently watched something that I wished I would of watched years ago.
What did I watch? A movieish documentary. It's called The Secret. It will
sound ridiculous if I try to explain what it is about. Well, it's about getting
what you want by thinking positively and truly believing that it will happen. Relationships, minor things, ideas, money. Any of it. Instead of worrying about how it will happen, just trusting that it will happen and picturing the end result. Sounds silly, right? But it really makes sense and I'm so grateful I watched it. It's helped me to become so much more positive. I'm still having a tough time trying to apply it to my life and get over the negativity that sits in the back of my mind and whispers silly things like no way, that's impossible! Nothing is impossible and sometimes it can be so hard to have faith that good things will happen and it's hard to have faith in the Laws of Attraction, but it is something I believe. I paid $4.95 I think it was for a one time download after hearing rave reviews on MDC from many different ladies and then going to Youtube to see what I could find, which were a few intriguing previews that left me wanting to see the entire thing. I dragged the husband around town searching out the dvd, but apparently it's not sold in stores, only through the website. So, I decided the quickest and cheapest way to see it would be to pay for the one-time-view version, that you can watch on their website. Now I'm dying for the dvd.
That's all I've got for now. I'm nursing at the keyboard completely exhausted, dreaming about slipping under the covers.
I found the sweetest little santa matchboxes while I was rummaging around the local antique store. Aren't they the cutest things ever? I'm in love! This is the only thing I'll show that was in my swap. I think my swap partner should post photographs of all the things she recieved, so I may take hers and post them here so you can see all of what I sent.
Here is a close-up of the envelope. Sloppiest drawing ever. It was originally just drawn in pen, but when I showed it to my husband he said I should colour it and all we had was markers. So, there it is all coloured with markers.
Just a close-up of the packages as a whole. One actually isn't pictured because I need to re-wrap it before I run to the post office. And one of the bows went wonky on one so I'll need to fix that real quick.
I recently came across the blog Gimme Your Stuff. It's a swapping group where you can swap different items with people from different countries. I feel like I should be sleeping. It's 8:30 am on a sunday morning! Sleep, where are you? The cause: Alyona woke me up at 6:30. She hasn't woken me up that early in such a long time. She pulled my hair and nursed the entire night. So I gave up and just took her to the sitting room to see if she'd play since I wasn't getting sleep anyway and I hate the hair pulling!
Yesterday was tons of fun. We went to this fun park. And it was just fun to roller skate and bowl and I won four stuffed toys from those machines with a claw. That takes talent! And ohmygod my father's girlfriends daughter has cow-eyes like mine. I gave her over $10 for game tokens! Well, I used alot of the tokens as well. That's how I won everyone stuffed toys. Alyona got to keep the ugly witch and the doll with green hair.
I think I might even miss her the most sometimes. She's such a sweet person and quiet and I wish she was here. She's my brother in-law's fiance and she's from Ethiopia. We're trying to figure out a way to get them more close to us. Hopefuly we'll find some way to make it happen. My brother in-law does model making for buildings and he's actually don't quite a few really big ones in the Emirates and we wanted to try to find him work here in that area and since he has a few years of experience now and has worked on some good projects we think he should be able to find a job here. If someone would give him a working visa. I can't sponser him because he doesn't count as family technically and Syoma can't until he gets citizenship. I hate different countries! Why do there have to be visas? Why does everyone have to be so far away? It's such a bummer!
Syoma is working now. He started last week! He seems to be adjusting to it. For now he's still training. The training will last about four weeks. And it's paid training obviously!
I can't keep this little monster out of the fridge. She loves it. Lately since she knows it's not allowed to pull everything out (though she still does occasionally) she'll just sit there inside of it and laugh at me when I look. Look Mama! Aren't I hilarious or whaaaat? She's such a hoot sometimes. Last night her grandfather chased her all over the fun park. She had such a blast exploring and running around. She kept going towards the ski ball place and trying to take peoples balls. She got one from us and wouldn't let go of it. I had to take it away eventually and you should of heard the squeal. She did not want to part with it. At all. And note all the half empty bottles of pop on the side door. We can never finish a full bottle and then it gets stale so we buy a new one. Ha ha ha!
I'll post later today with a photo of my vintage christmas swap that will be going out tomorrow! I wished I would of taken pictures before I wrapped everything up. Oops!
Alyona is growing up. Everyday I notice something new. She's learned how to twirl. Today was full of twirling. I'd twirl, she'd smile, maybe laugh and then start to spin herself in circles. And she can hold the phone to her ear and try to say allo. For her birthday we presented her a little rocking horse, she was afraid of him, so we put it to good use by placing it in front of the refrigerator which worked at keeping her away from it... for a while. Lately she became less afraid and she'll go push on his ear and make him sing, run towards me with the biggest smile spread across her face. I really cherish watching her grow up and learning new things. It's the best feeling in the world. Really! Sometimes I think about how afraid I was when I found out I was pregnant and throughout the pregnancy about how it'd be to be a parent and literly sacrifice the rest of my life and alot of my feelings and selfishness, how I'd lose alot of freedom, but it didn't really effect me the way that I thought it would. Of course I have my moments where I'm ready to pull my hair out and put her on ebay, but those aren't as close together as I anticipated.
Halloween was fun. I went to the dentist earlier in the day for two
fillings and the left side of my face and tongue was completely numb
and it was impossible for me to take a drink without slobbering it all
over myself and when the numbness wore off my gums hurt alot from the
shots and where they put the filling. But I tried to ignore it and have
a good time. I dressed Alyona up as a pink bear. I liked the costume
because it's was a warm suit, not technically a costume, but I wasn't
afraid to take her around. We went to Marci's, who is my dad's
girlfriend. She has two younger children and an older daughter Ashley
who has adorable twin girls. We went with them to the mall to do a
"trunk or treat" and it was terrible. I hate crowded places and this
place was a disaster. I was so relieved when we were done there. We ran
home real quick and met back up and went door to door with Marci's
younger daughter, Ashley and her husband. We got looooots of candy.
Alyona's Hello Kitty bucket was completely full. We even got a
toothbrush from one family. I had always thought that people giving those out was a joke, like it never actually happened, but I stand corrected!
Today was a semi-exciting mail day. I ordered the first 21 episodes of a serial (tv show) called Ne Rodis Krasivoi on dvd and it finally came along with a dvd of a bunch of Russian music videos. A 163 to be exact. I'm still not quite sure what posessed me to buy that, but I did and I did like to watch a few of them. It has a zillion of videos, I still haven't looked through them all. I'm participating in a vintage swap as well and am waiting on something from that. And another Russian dvd and Big Love on dvd. I'm excited about Big Love especially! Such a great show!
I need to think about going to sleep sometime. I feel sleepy and I'm not sure what time Alyona will wake up tomorrow because she had a really weird schedule today. No naps. At all. Until the evening and then it was a pain in the neck to put her to sleep even though she was practically falling over from the tired. She'll probably wake up early tomorrow with my luck! Goodnight everyone!
